MANY residents are calling it "Freaky Friday" - a 90-minute weather window which wreaked havoc in the Singleton shire.
NSW State Emergency Service (SES) and Hunter Valley Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews were kept busy as more than 60mm of rain, strong winds and a severe thunderstorm struck late in the afternoon.
It also triggered a major blackout throughout town, and rendered traffic lights useless, causing further headaches for Hunter Valley Local Area Command police officers.
